Dried flowers are undergoing something of a renaissance and now are being used to great effect mixed with fresh flowers in bouquets, in everlasting and seasonal wreaths and as standalone arrangements. A frequent choice of floral designers now, the key to displaying dried flowers is to do it with style…no more dusty teazels and wilting wheat!
For a really beautiful dried flower, they must be picked before they start naturally to decline in the flowerbed, when colours are fresh and shapes are true. We pick and dry ours out of the sun in our studio, usually suspended in bunches, and wait for nature to do the rest. Grasses and hedgerow plants are also harvested to add to our cultivated flowers. We especially rate lunaria (honesty), hydrangeas, statice, wild grasses and strawflowers.
Our dried wreaths are formed on twisted willow bases that we make ourselves. The flowers are carefully attached with fine copper wire which is largely invisible when the wreath is finished. The wreath can be trimmed with a beautiful ribbon or left ‘au naturel’. Each wreath is made to order and is therefore unique, having its own flowery personality. We try to accommodate your colour choices in wreaths but regret this is not always possible as our stocks diminish through the winter.
All our wreaths can be sent UK-wide for a small extra charge.
